~Giving Thanks In The New Year~

The year has only just began, but I still feel its important to look around and be thankful. January can be such a slump of a month and the only way to beat that is to actively try and be cheerful and give thanks for the small things  which make up such a huge part of our lives.

Today I am Thankful for

Happy New Year - Wishes

2012 was a difficult year for me, fraught with ill health and much anxiety. I am seeing this new year as my chance to sweep clean with a new broom and look forwards not back.

Here is my wish list, resolutions are doomed to fail and wants are often left unsatiated, wishes are always possible.  What are you wishing for this year?

Grey

Our little grey and white cat likes to sit at the window and watch the big grey sky. I love to see her little head jerk as a bird swoops past.

New Years Dinner

I am still feeling a bit poorly, so my gorgeous husband stepped in and did half of the cooking for New Years. After we had stood at the harbor with roughly 3 thousand other people (see yesterdays post) we were in need of a feast to celebrate the New Year.

Lunch was buffet style and as per usual we made far too much and grazed all day. Ah well, lets call it the last blow out before the New Year Weight Loss plan begins.

~Harbor Dook~

Every New Years Day, a large group of completely mad members of the public, strip off or get into fancy dress and run into the sea. It is of course done to raise money for charity, but with the temperature being 39°F air temp and approximately 26°F water temp, I'm afraid it would take a miracle to get me in there. The man standing behind us told his mother that even if he had 'flames licking his butt, he still wouldn't jump in there'. Quite.
